Atef Abu Saif, Editor of The Book of Gaza, was featured in a four-page spread in The Guardian today. It included four diary pieces he wrote about life under the bombardment and invasion. It’s kind of heart-breaking to read. Atef was sitting in our Manchester office only about three and a half weeks ago. Now he and his young family are in imminent danger.

In other news, I want to say a huge thank you to the Arabic-English translators who’ve stepped up over the past few days, volunteering their time and expertise to translate missives from Gazan writers. Their generosity is humbling.

Some people have asked if we’ll publish all the reportage together in one place. I think we probably will, but not yet. It’s important we don’t just preach to the converted with this stuff, but try to reach readers who might actually support Israeli military aggression, or try to justify it, or maybe haven’t even thought of its consequences.
